Sales Development Representative (SDR)
Location: Ottawa, Ontario (Hybrid)
The Opportunity
We are seeking a results-oriented Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our commercial team in Ottawa. The primary objective of this role is high-level appointment setting for our senior Sales Executives. You will act as the engine of our sales pipeline, identifying and qualifying high-intent prospects from trade show and conference attendee lists, while simultaneously identifying cross-sell opportunities within our robust existing customer base.
This position requires a sophisticated understanding of our six-product ecosystem. You will focus on businesses that sell or promote consumer products (B2C/D2C), navigating various verticals to deliver high-quality, sales-ready opportunities.

In this role, you will be responsible for prospecting and cross-selling across six specialized brands, each solving critical challenges in the email and data ecosystem:
Campaigner: A high-performance email marketing automation platform designed for advanced segmentation, multi-channel workflows (Email + SMS), and personalized customer journeys.
SMTP.com: Specialized email delivery and relay services, providing high-volume senders with the infrastructure needed for reliable transactional and marketing email throughput.
iContact: An intuitive email marketing solution focused on ease-of-use for small businesses, offering powerful design tools and list management capabilities.
kickbox: An industry-leading email verification platform that ensures deliverability by identifying risky or invalid email addresses before they impact a sender's reputation.
FullContact: A privacy-safe Identity Resolution company that unifies fragmented data into a whole-person view, allowing brands to better understand and engage their customers.
Email Industries: A premier deliverability consulting and services firm that provides expert audits, strategic guidance, and specialized tools to ensure emails reach the inbox.
Key Responsibilities
Appointment Setting: Execute high-volume outbound prospecting to secure qualified introductory meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives.
Lead Qualification: Conduct rigorous discovery sessions to qualify leads based on BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, and Timeline) criteria, ensuring only high-probability opportunities enter the sales funnel.
Event Conversion: Strategically mine attendee lists from global trade shows and conferences to capture and convert interest into actionable sales meetings.
Strategic Cross-Selling: Analyze the needs of the current customer base to introduce additional solutions from our multi-brand portfolio, maximizing the lifetime value of every account.
CRM Management: Maintain meticulous data integrity within our CRM, tracking all outreach activity, lead status, and conversion metrics.
Job Qualifications
Experience: 1 year of proven track record in lead generation, telemarketing, or a baseline sales role, ideally within SaaS or Digital Marketing.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor suitable for engaging C-suite and Director-level stakeholders.
Persistence: A high-energy "hunter" mentality with the resilience required to thrive in a high-volume outbound environment.
Base Salary + Uncapped Commission: This role offers a competitive base salary and an uncapped commission structure.
Performance Metrics: Earnings are directly tied to the generation of BANT-qualified leads and successfully held appointments. There is no ceiling on your earning potential

Compensation Range
Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The salary compensation for this role is $70,000 OTE. Individual pay within the compensation range for this business unit specific role is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, education and training, as well as business and company performance.
